Usage

1. Menu

At the left side you find the menu. First there are some language-independent items. The number differs according to the status of the user. Einstellungen means settings, there you can set the following:

Passwort your own password
Vokabel pro Übung, Max. maximum number of words in one exercise
Vokabel pro Übung, Min. minimum number of words in one exercise, below 10 is not possible
Formen pro Übung number of forms in one conjugation exercise
lange Vokale defines if length indicators for Latin vocabulary (":") are to be used Details

Thereafter the language-related items are following, according to the user privileges up to 4 languages will appear.

2. >> neu ( new )

Here you can type in new vocabulary. The red labelled input fields are obligatory and have to be used, the grey ones don't have to. In case there is no unit to which the vocabulary can be assigned, you have to create one with >> Lektion neu. The same applies for books, to which units must be assigned >> Buch neu.

According to the chosen word type, different input fields will appear. The input of vocabulary is somewhat complex and therefore has been moved to a special chapter. It is a must-read.

Before saving you must check if the right unit has been selected!
Reason: The programme uses the unit that has been used the last time as a default. If the word type is changed, the combobox switches back to the default value. This is only a problem if you work on the first word of a new unit (otherwise there is no difference).

3. >> Wörterbuch ( dictionary )

To look up a word, to work on it, or even to delete it, you need the dictionary. Here the vocabulary is shown in a list or in a combobox, you can choose different sorting criteria. For a fast look up, it is best to use the combobox, because here you can type in the starting letters of the word and jump directly to the entry.

4. >> Grammatik ( grammar )

Before taking a grammar exercise here you could take a closer look on the structure of the grammar. Naturally most stuff belongs to Latin, German is second. For French and English it is basically about verbs.

5. >> Übung ( exercise )

At this point you can choose between vocabulary or grammar exercises. On grammar there is not much to say, you tick the items you want, and off you go. Exercises with verb stems are available as soon as there are at least ten irregular verbs in your dictionary.

The vocabulary exercise requires more settings:

Kiste New vocabulary goes straight into the first box. If, in the exercise, you have the word correct, this word moves into the next box (and so on), but if you have it wrong, it falls back into the first box again.
erste Lektion first unit of the vocabulary exercise
letzte Lektion last unit of the vocabulary exercise; If this field remains empty, only the first unit is relevant.

von Englisch nach XXXother direction of translation
Eselsbrücken verwenden for using and showing hints
Phrasen bewerten To have a phrase exactly right (word by word) is nearly impossible. If you still want to try it, you have to tick this. Otherwise phrases will be ignored.
nicht verwenden for excluding certain types of vocabulary

6. >> Statisik ( statistics )

Here you can follow your successes (this is a pun in German which doesn't work in English).
